A few weeks before David "Joey" Pedersen embarked on a murderous campaign in 2011, he was stopped by a Portland Police officer as he fled a failed carjacking attempt, court documents filed last week show. Portland Police Officer Chadd Stensgaard questioned Pedersen and his friend, Bryce Woods, about what they were doing in the Northwest Portland neighborhood where the attempt took place, according to the police report from the Sept. 8, 2011 incident.
