1 person dead following officer involved shooting in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. — One man is dead following a shooting involving multiple Washington State law enforcement agencies, the Everett Police Department (EPD) announced Friday. At approximately 5 a.m., a man was shot and died at the scene on Fleming Street, according to EPD. EPD did not disclose what led up to the shooting, or which agencies were involved. Detectives are investigating, and more details are expected to be released.

Storage facility a 'total loss' after fire breaks out in University Place

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — A building at a University Place storage facility is a "total loss" after a fire broke out early Friday morning. West Pierce Fire and Rescue crews were called to Prime Storage at around 2:45 a.m. after a fire broke out in a center unit. When crews arrived, they began attacking the fire from the outside. The blaze was too strong for firefighters to be able to enter any of the units. In total, six units responded to the scene, including some help from Tacoma Fire.

2 injured after firework explosion inside car in Snohomish County

GOLD BAR, Wash. — Two people were injured after fireworks exploded inside a car in Gold Bar on New Year's Day, according to the Sky Valley Fire Department (SFD). The department responded to a call about a car explosion on May Creek Road after midnight. SFD said an adult man and an adult woman were both seriously injured, with burns to their faces and hands. They were both taken to nearby hospitals in serious condition. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is investigating how the explosion happened.
