PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The heatwave is over across the Mid-Ohio Valley, but the muggy air is still going to stick around through the week. The muggy air is still going to allow for the chance of pop-up showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening. Similar to the weekend, not everyone will run into a thunderstorm. Some may deal with multiple storms and that can lead to the potential of localized flooding.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Happy 4th of July Mid-Ohio Valley! The stretch of days with heat index values in the triple digits will be over after today. However, we are going to be dealing with the risk of scattered thunders now. We have been dealing with plenty of activity east of I-77 with some severe thunderstorm warnings. The risk for scattered storms will continue through the evening. Some storms could contain isolated damaging winds. As the sun sets, the risk of storms will diminish.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) -The heat wave is almost over for the Mid-Ohio Valley as we enter the 4th of July holiday weekend. The Extreme Heat Warning remains in place across the region and has been extended to Saturday evening due to the heat index remaining in the triple digits that afternoon. It will still be hot on Sunday and into the start of next week.
