Apple has reached an agreement with Germany's Federal Cartel Office to modify its App Tracking Transparency prompt, resolving a regulatory dispute over how the privacy feature treats Apple's own apps differently from third-party apps. The core objection from the Bundeskartellamt was not simply about wording. The regulator found that Apple designed different consent requests for its own offerings versus apps from outside developers.

Apple is taking a new path with AI in China. Instead of teaming up with a local provider, Reuters reports the company built its own language model specifically for the Chinese market. The model was developed in partnership with Alibaba, but Apple's own training work distinguishes it from the approach used elsewhere.

Tim Cook, in the final weeks of his tenure as Apple's CEO, deflected questions about his own legacy during a recent CBS News interview , saying he hopes people will remember him simply as a good and decent man rather than define his leadership by any corporate achievement. “In my view, your legacy is described by others, not yourself,” Cook told CBS News on Wednesday. “And so, I hope that people will say that I was a good and decent man.
