CARMEL, Ind. — The two-day CarmelFest began on Friday afternoon. As Central Indiana continues to be impacted by heat, officials are urging people to have fun but stay safe. “America’s 250. So, a great celebration,” said Neil Smith while walking through the festival. Vendors were serving corn dogs and fresh lemonade. But Mother Nature offered up stifling heat. “Just a day to relax, take a load off and just enjoy the finer things in Carmel,” said Ugomma Onyemezikeya, while with her family.
