On July 18th, 2025, Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, claimed there was intelligence showing that former President Barack Obama had attempted a “coup” against President Trump before the 2016 election. The White House responded positively, proclaiming that this evidence proves the idea that Russia meddled in the election was a “total hoax.” Gabbard released an 11-page breakdown along with a 114-page email chain to try and substantiate these claims.
