High-Temperature Molten Chloride Corrosion of Ti- and Hf-based MAX Phases: Experimental and First-Principles Insights
1 Introduction Next-generation concentrating solar power (CSP) systems are pursuing higher operating temperatures (≥ 700°C) to achieve greater thermal-to-electrical conversion efficiencies and enable advanced power cycles, such as the supercritical CO2 (sCO2) Brayton cycle [1-7].
Oxygen-dependent subcellular redistribution of PHD3 links the hypoxic microenvironment to mitochondrial metabolic reprogramming in ccRCC
Abstract Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is characterized by profound metabolic dysregulation, with both prolyl hydroxylase domain protein 3 (PHD3) and pyruvate carboxylase (PC) independently implicated in disease progression. Although each influences patient outcomes, a direct mechanistic interplay between these two regulators has remained elusive.
Crystal symmetry-dependent Orbital Rashba Edelstein effect in epitaxial CuO thin film
Abstract Orbital angular momentum has recently been demonstrated as a promising approach to manipulate magnetic order in spintronic devices with high efficiency. While the generation of orbital angular momentum is generally attributed to electron orbital hopping and hybridization, its experimental manifestations have often been discussed in an isotropic manner.
Spatiotemporally Resolved Orbital Hall Effect in a Topological Semimetal
1 Introduction Historically, orbital angular momentum (OAM), a degree of freedom in solids, has been considered negligible due to orbital quenching by crystal fields.[1-3] However, the importance of OAM in solid-state physics has been highlighted by recent findings of the orbital Hall effect (OHE),[4-9] orbital magnetism[10-12] (or altermagnetism[13-15]), and orbital Rashba effect.[16-18] Despite the importance of OAM, few experimental tools are available to access it, particularly in the...

How Korea and Japan Can Lead Regional AI and Data Infrastructure
By HoJun Lee, Head of Arches Korea As the race for AI dominance accelerates, Korea and Japan stand at a pivotal crossroads, equipped with complementary strengths that could redefine regional tech leadership. While Korea boasts cutting-edge expertise in semiconductors, network hardware, and rapid capital deployment, Japan excels in engineering reliability, advanced energy systems, and access to cooler climates—ideal for hyperscale data centers.

Superionic Disulfonic Acid Polymers
1 Introduction Significant efforts have been devoted to developing advanced polymer electrolytes doped with ionic liquids by incorporating acid functional groups into polymer backbones or side chains. Examples of these functional groups include phosphonic acid (─PO3H2),[1, 2] sulfonic acid (─SO3H),[3, 4] and trifluoromethanesulfonimide (─CF3SO2NH).[5, 6] The properties of the resulting polymer electrolytes are primarily determined by the distinct characteristics of their acid moieties.

Exploration of complex nanostructures in block copolymers
The exploration of nanoscale morphologies with three-dimensional spatial arrangements in block copolymers involves the manipulation of compositional fluctuations at interfaces, induction of conformational asymmetry, and design of complex architectures. Despite the abundance of triply periodic minimal surfaces identified to date, the experimental demonstration of thermodynamically stable complex nanostructures with high-packing frustration remains limited.
