SOUTHERN ILLINOIS -- When Matt Martino first got a call from Kenya, he thought it was just another of the dozens of scam contacts that seem to haunt our phones and email on a daily basis. But that wasn't what it was at all. Martino, an accomplished pianist and musician, found himself introduced to the plight of orphans in an orphanage halfway around the world from his home in rural southern Illinois. Williamson County State's Attorny Zanotti announces he will step down effective July 22

WILLIAMSON COUNTY -- It appears there will be one more race on the ballot for Williamson County voters in November following the resignation this week of Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti. Zanotti tendered his resignation to the Williamson County Board on July 12. His last day in office will be July 22. Zanotti said his recent DU was not a factor in his decision to leave the office he has held for eight years, but that he has been looking at a change in career option for some time.
