GATA1 silencing restrains granulosa cell ferroptosis through downregulation of TFRC in polycystic ovary syndrome
Abstract Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most prevalent endocrine disorder among women of childbearing age and the leading cause of anovulatory infertility worldwide, with the death of granulosa cells implicated in its pathogenesis. However, the mechanisms underlying granulosa cell death remain unclear. Limited research has explored the association between GATA binding factor 1 (GATA1) and adverse pregnancy outcomes, yet its role in PCOS is still elusive.

The role of gut microbiota mediated ferroptosis in PCOS and the therapeutic potential of Chinese herbal medicine
Abstract Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex reproductive endocrine metabolic disorder whose pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. In recent years, the role of ferroptosis–a novel form of iron-dependent programmed cell death–in the pathogenesis of PCOS has gradually drawn attention. This review proposes an innovative perspective: gut microbiota dysbiosis may be a potential upstream trigger of ferroptosis in PCOS ovarian granulosa cells.
