CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — After several rainy days, the Coastal Bend is expected to heat up quickly. Thursday will be the warmest day this week with a forecast high of 96° in Corpus Christi. The last time we reached 96° was back on March 15th of this year. While that was record breaking heat during the winter, this time we will feel much hotter due to the humidity. CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Our main rain chance this week will come overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. An upper-level trough will move over West Texas providing enough lift to initiate storms that will move southeast into the Coastal Bend Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the region in a marginal risk for severe storms. The main hazard associated with any severe storm that pops up will be strong winds greater than 60 mph.

RAINFALL TOTALS: Given the current drought situation, the rain over Easter weekend provided much needed water for yards throughout the Coastal Bend. While most everyone saw at least some rain, the wealth was not spread evenly throughout the region. A good majority of the area saw around 1 inch of rain with certain locations in our southern counties observing 2 plus inches of rainfall.
