HONOLULU (KHON2) — It’s no secret tourism from Asia — in particular Japan is down. But local tourism officials aren’t just sitting back and waiting for more Japanese visitors to return to the islands — they’re taking a big taste of Hawaii to them. Ebisu, Japan, a popular city in Tokyo, is playing host to this year’s Aloha Tokyo show, featuring all things Hawaiian. Danny Ojiri, VP of Market Development for Outrigger Hotels, said the three-day event was expected to attract over 220,000 people.
