WAIPAHU, Hawaii (KHON2) — Honolulu police continue to urge pedestrian safety as the nation recognizes October as National Pedestrian Safety Month. The message becomes stronger following a hit-and-run in Waipahu that killed a 25-year-old female pedestrian early Sunday morning. HPD said the crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Kupuohi Street, near Polina Place. The report said an unidentified driver was heading north when it struck the woman who was walking on the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
