Cumulative average glucose–lipid metabolic obesity index associates with benign prostatic hyperplasia incidence in Chinese middle-aged and older men
Abstract Composite metabolic indices such as CMI and TyG-BMI are used for cardiometabolic-risk prediction, yet evidence linking integrated glucose–lipid-obesity burden to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) remains limited. This study constructed the novel glucose–lipid metabolic obesity index (GLMOI) and examined the association between its cumulative average and BPH incidence among Chinese middle-aged and older men.

Acupuncture modulates extracellular vesicle-miRNA-HMOX1 axis to inhibit ferroptosis in polycystic ovary syndrome: integrating machine learning, in vitro and in vivo studies
|
Abstract Background: Acupuncture therapy shows promise for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), but its molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates whether acupuncture alleviates PCOS by regulating granulosa cell (GC) ferroptosis via extracellular vesicles (EVs). Methods: Bioinformatic analysis of KGN cell transcriptome data identified heme oxygenase-1 (HMOX1) as a key candidate. Its role was validated in a PCOS rat model and GCs using RT-qPCR, western blot, and immunohistochemistry.

Synergistic engineering of fluorine doping Fe x Mn 1-x MoO 4 /graphene heterojunction as ultrahigh-rate anode for LIBs
Abstract The development of advanced anode materials is critical for high-energy and high-power lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Conventional conversion-type anodes, such as transition metal molybdates, suffer from poor conductivity, severe volume expansion, and structural degradation, leading to rapid capacity fading. To overcome these limitations, we propose a synergistic design strategy that integrates heterojunction engineering with fluorine doping.

Esketamine alleviates the pain-depression dyad: insights from exploratory transcriptomic profiling and Wnt4-associated molecular alterations within the anterior cingulate cortex
|
Abstract Objective: The molecular mechanisms driving esketamine (ESK) efficacy in the pain-depression dyad (PDD) remain incompletely understood. This study investigated the effects of a sub-anesthetic ESK regimen on cortical expression profiles and exploratory signaling markers within the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into Sham, PDD, and PDD + ESK groups.

Clinicopathological characteristics of alveolar adenoma
Abstract Introduction: Alveolar adenoma is an uncommon benign lung tumor that typically appears as a well-defined nodule on imaging and pathological examination. Currently, there is limited research on alveolar adenoma. This article aims to present this rare tumor by describing three cases. Methods: We reviewed and analyzed the morphological and immunohistochemical characteristics of three cases using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

Construction of a sandwich-type DNA biosensor based on functionalized MOF@COF nanomaterials for the detection of NSCLC biomarker ctDNA
Construction of a sandwich-type DNA biosensor based on functionalized MOF@COF nanomaterials for the detection of NSCLC biomarker ctDNA As a key diagnostic biomarker for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the sensitive detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is crucial for early-stage disease detection and monitoring. However, the existing detection methods still have limitations in terms of sensitivity, cost and operational simplicity.

Ultrahigh-water-flux desalination on graphdiyne membranes - Nature Water
Abstract Membrane desalination is an emerging technology that shows promise for producing freshwater from saline waters. However, most membranes are challenged by low freshwater flux, impacting the water productivity, energy efficiency and membrane usage. Here we present the submicrometre-thick and nanopore-structured graphdiyne membranes on porous Cu hollow fibres.
Graph‐theoretic approach to finite‐time synchronization and topology identification of delayed multi‐group models with stochastic perturbation and multiple dispersal
This paper investigates the issue of finite-time synchronization and topology identification of delayed multi-group models with stochastic perturbation and multiple dispersal. Based on the graph-theoretic approach, a novel finite-time topology identification scheme is proposed via drive-response synchronization. Then, several useful finite-time topology identification criteria are presented.

Oolong tea cultivars categorization and germination period classification based on multispectral information
1 Introduction In most nations, tea plant (Camellia sinensis) is a significant economic crop, with potential medicinal application (Pan et al., 2022). Most tea plantation management activities are conducted without the utilization of intelligent technology. The procedure of growing and producing tea heavily depends on skilled human workers, resulting in a labor-intensive and inefficient process (Zhang et al., 2023).
DilatedFormer: dilated granularity transformer network for placental maturity grading in ultrasound
1 Introduction The placenta, an essential organ for fetal–placental blood circulation, gas exchange, nutrient supply, and fetal waste elimination, can serve as an immune barrier and minimize small gestational age (SGA), stillbirth, and pregnancy complications [1]. It cannot be emphasized more that placental development is indispensable for fetal growth and normal pregnancy, as well as closely related to the placental size, umbilical cord, and cord blood flow.
A hybrid intelligence model for predicting dissolved oxygen in aquaculture water
1 Introduction In the field of aquaculture, the quality of water is an important factor affecting the growth, development and reproduction of aquatic organisms. Water quality is unstable and constantly changing due to factors such as weather, breeding density, fish activity and fishermen intervention. In aquaculture, it is necessary to ensure that the dissolved oxygen content, pH value, water temperature, salinity and other water quality indicators are within the normal ranges.
Adrenocorticotropic hormone application lowered aldosterone/cortisol value on dominant side without superior surgical outcomes during adrenal venous sampling
Abstract Adrenal venous sampling (AVS) is thought to be the gold standard for primary aldosteronism (PA) subtype discrimination, during which the application of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) arouses heated debate. We aimed to identify the effect of ACTH on AVS and surgical outcomes. After propensity score matching (PSM), a total of 220 patients diagnosed with PA and completed AVS were included (110 without ACTH stimulation and 110 with ACTH stimulation).

Early Administration of Vancomycin Inhibits Pulmonary Embolism by Remodeling Gut Microbiota
Abstract : Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a common and potentially fatal condition in the emergency department, and early identification of modifiable risk factors for prevention and management is highly desirable. Although gut dysbiosis is associated with a high incidence of venous thromboembolism, the role and mechanisms of the gut microbiome in the pathogenesis of venous thromboembolism, especially PE, remain unexplored.
