1. Introduction Chicken infectious anemia (CIA) is an economically significant immunosuppressive disease of poultry, primarily affecting young chickens. The condition is marked by aplastic anemia, significant immunosuppression, growth retardation, and atrophy of lymphoid tissues, leading to increased susceptibility to secondary infections and poor vaccine responses. Consequently, CIA is responsible for significant economic losses to the global poultry industry.
