It’s hard to quantify the impact the late, great Jason Collins had on LGBTQ people and the world at large throughout his life. The ESPYs will honor that enormous legacy by awarding Collins with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award on July 15. Collins has been one of the bravest people ever to play professional sports since he came out as gay in 2013. His work in the LGBTQ community inspired millions in the years after he retired.
