I wanna go home.” The vendors’ screams in Hebrew were fighting fiercely to occupy the ears and minds of those walking through Ben Yehuda Market in West Jerusalem. Hoping they would drag their feet to this or that stall. Their husky voices were more potent than normal ones, like they’d been born with extra cords in their throats. I frequented that market every Friday.
