A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 am through 10 p.m. Friday, as feels-like temperatures climb as high as 109 degrees, or about 43 degrees Celsius. Most areas stay dry today and on Juneteenth, but a few storms return late Friday night into Saturday.

Heavy rain and flash flooding remain the biggest concern this morning, especially along and south of I-10, where the ground is already saturated. Coastal flooding, gusty winds, dangerous surf, and isolated tornadoes are also possible near the coast.

HOUSTON (CW39) — A tropical depression or storm could develop over the Gulf water along the Texas coast, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 60% change of development sometime tonight or Wednesday morning as a broad area of low pressure makes it over the warm water. Whether we get a depression or storm, the main impact will be the potential for downpours and more flash flooding. Gusty winds around 30 mph the secondary impact.
