From One Year Ago We live in a “what have you done for me lately” society…perhaps no better evidenced than with Congress and other elected officials. Hard to remember what they may have done, given the absolute failure to do much of anything for months. This past Saturday marked the one year point since the President signed a major reconciliation bill, nicknamed the “One Big Beautiful Bill”.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – A man has been charged with first-degree murder following an investigation into a fatal Iowa City shooting from December 2024. 20-year-old Denario Mobley is accused of fatally shooting a woman in a vehicle in the alley behind the 600 Block of South Lucas Street on December 30, 2024. The victim was later identified as 38-year-old Christine Blount of Iowa City. Iowa City Police Chief Dustin Liston says they were “confident” there was enough evidence to lead to an arrest.

Organized Effort National Democrats have tried to orchestrate the Maine U.S. Senate campaign from the start. They flocked to a perceived outsider candidate, Graham Platner, and forced a long-time state officeholder out before the primary. Every time stories came out challenging Platner’s background or behavior, they were tamped down before the spark became a flame. Even Smokey Bear would be proud of how effective they were at snuffing out those embers.
