1. Introduction With recent improvements in the prognosis of people with type 1 diabetes (T1DM), the extension of healthy life expectancy has become a prominent concern [1,2]. However, it is necessary to prevent diabetes-related complications to extend the healthy life expectancy among people with diabetes. Common complications of diabetes include microvascular (neuropathy, retinopathy, and nephropathy) and macrovascular disorders.
