Many UK employees are finding it harder to switch off from work, with research suggesting working beyond normal hours has become routine for many. More than half (55 per cent) of UK employees work – such as checking work emails, responding to messages or completing work tasks – outside their normal hours every day, while 93 per cent do so at least occasionally, according to a survey of 1,000 workers by resume platform MyPerfectCV.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping workplace grievances, but many managers lack the confidence to investigate them effectively, research has found. Only 12 per cent of employers are confident their managers can handle complex AI-assisted grievance cases, according to a survey of more than 900 HR and business professionals by employment law and HR consultancy WorkNest.
