This study assesses knowledge, attitudes, and unmet needs among women referred for specialist counseling. Methods: An observational cross-sectional survey was conducted (November 2022 – June 2026) among women referred to a single tertiary oncofertility center in Rome.
Fertility preservation and subsequent reproductive outcomes in female pediatric patients with hematologic malignancies
Abstract Improved survival of pediatric and adolescent patients with hematologic malignancies has shifted attention toward long-term quality-of-life outcomes, including fertility. Female survivors of leukemia and lymphoma are at high risk of gonadal and uterine damage due to exposure to alkylating agents, radiotherapy, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, resulting in premature ovarian insufficiency, diminished ovarian reserve, and adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Triggering final follicular maturation for IVF cycles - Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology
As part of a standard/conventional controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) regimen, final follicular maturation is usually triggered by a single bolus dose (5000–10,000 units) of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), administered as close as possible to the time of ovulation (36 h before oocyte recovery) [3]. A surrogate to the naturally occurring LH surge, hCG induces luteinization of the GCs, final oocyte maturation, and resumption of meiosis.
Comment on: Male reproductive aging: can men with oligospermia become azoospermic over time? - International Journal of Impotence Research
In a recently published article, Patel et al. addressed the pressing issue of male reproductive aging, particularly focusing on whether men with oligospermia (sperm count <15 million sperm/mL) are at risk of progressing to nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) [1]. They provide insights into the causes, including aging, genetic defects, and lifestyle factors. Patel et al. offer valuable recommendations on managing this progression, which are crucial for clinicians treating male infertility.

1 INTRODUCTION Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a serious medical condition in which a blastocyst implants in a small tract on the uterine scar or in the dehiscence (niche) left behind by a previous cesarean incision. This condition can be life-threatening, and its incidence has been gradually increasing worldwide.
Intrauterine insemination timing models—LH can only take you so far - Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics
Abstract Can an optimal LH threshold algorithm accurately predict timing of ovulation for natural cycle–intrauterine insemination (NC-IUI)? A retrospective cohort study (2018–2022) including 2467 natural cycles. Ovulation timing for these cycles was determined using a previously developed AI model. Two LH thresholds, low and high, were determined in the LH algorithm. Being below the low threshold meant that ovulation is likely to occur in ≥ 4 days, suggesting another daily blood test.
BEYOND: a randomized controlled trial comparing efficacy and safety of individualized follitropin delta dosing in a GnRH agonist versus antagonist protocol during the first ovarian stimulation cycle
GnRH agonists and antagonists are used as concomitant treatment during ovarian stimulation to prevent premature luteinization and ovulation. They share several key features, such as suppressing LH surges during ovarian stimulation, and have comparable clinical outcomes, including the number of oocytes retrieved and live birth rates (Al-Inany et al., 2016; Lambalk et al., 2017; Toftager et al., 2017).
Planned oocyte cryopreservation: a systematic review and meta-regression analysis
Awareness of the age-related decline in fertility potential has increased the popularity of planned oocyte cryopreservation (POC). However, data regarding outcomes of POC, including rates of women returning to thaw oocytes, as well as pregnancy and live birth rates, are scarce and based mostly on small case series. POC was defined as cryopreservation exclusively for prevention of future age-related fertility loss. The primary outcome was live birth rate per patient.
Changes in Sperm Parameters with Time in Men with Normal and Abnormal Baseline Semen Analysis - Reproductive Sciences
Abstract The association between paternal age and sperm quality in the population level has been previously studied. Only limited data exists regarding the intra-personal variations in semen parameters among fertile and infertile men over time. We aimed to assess trends over time in semen parameters among men with normal and abnormal baseline sperm parameters and investigate potential risk factors for sperm quality deterioration.

Evidence-based guideline: unexplained infertility†
What is the recommended management for couples presenting with unexplained infertility (UI), based on the best available evidence in the literature? The evidence-based guideline on UI makes 52 recommendations on the definition, diagnosis, and treatment of UI. UI is diagnosed in the absence of any abnormalities of the female and male reproductive systems after ‘standard’ investigations. However, a consensual standardization of the diagnostic work-up is still lacking.
The Effects of Human Amnion Membrane-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Conditioned Medium on Ionizing Radiation-Induced Premature Ovarian Failure and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress-Related Apoptosis Mechanism
Objectives Premature ovarian failure (POF) is defined as the cessation of menstrual periods for at least 4-6 months before the age of 40 years, accompanied by FSH values measuring over 40 IU/L for a month. Radiation therapy, one of the cancer treatment methods, is known to accelerate ovarian aging by reducing and eliminating the number of primordial follicles in the ovarian follicle pool. Ionizing radiation has been reported to cause POF.
Reproductive health in Turner’s syndrome: from puberty to pregnancy
Introduction The objective of this manuscript is to review the current knowledge on Turner’s syndrome and reproductive health. Turner’s syndrome (TS) is a genetic pathology that affects about one of 2,500 newborn girls (1). Turner’s syndrome is characterized by highly variable genetic anomalies that consist of a partial or complete deletion of the X sexual chromosome; it can be present as a monosomy or as a mosaicism with two or three different cellular lines.

Transferring more than 1 embryo simultaneously is justifiable in most patients
Abstract Elective single embryo transfer (eSET), first introduced to in vitro fertilization (IVF) in 1999, is one of the most consequential changes introduced. It can be viewed as the first (among many since) “add-ons” to IVF that has significantly and adversely affected how IVF is practiced, resulting in astonishing declines in live birth rates following fresh non-donor IVF cycles around the world.

The reproducibility of trophectoderm biopsies - The chaos behind preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy
Chromosomal mosaicism is a common feature of early human embryos development. “Mosaic” embryos display very low rates of concordance between multiple trophectoderm biopsies and between multiple trophectoderm and inner cell mass biopsies using next-generation sequencing. The here presented data clearly demonstrate the limitations and shortages of the preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy screening test, which are not in alignment with WHO basic requirements.
