IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common type of primary glomerulonephritis and a significant cause of progressive renal dysfunction [1]. The pathogenesis of IgAN involves immune dysregulation, where galactose-deficient IgA (Gd-IgA) is produced in response to various antigens, including bacteria [2]. Elevated levels of IgA1 result from O-glycosylation deficiency in its hinge region [3].
