A same-sex Canadian couple is suing the surrogate mother who carried their son after she refused their request to abort the preborn baby over signs of a cleft lip and possible health problems. The dispute began about two years ago when an ultrasound raised concerns about the unborn child’s health, according to the National Post. The two men asked the Ontario woman carrying the child to have an abortion at about 22 weeks of pregnancy. She refused.
Maine law firm tells public schools to destroy immigration records to resist ICE
A liberal law firm in Maine is advising public schools on how they can “shield” illegal immigrants and refuse to comply with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The advice from Drummond Woodsum even tells schools to destroy evidence of immigration crimes so that ICE cannot obtain it, according to The Maine Wire. “One simple measure would be to limit the type of information that schools retain,” the firm said in a memo sent to various public schools.
US House bill would defund states providing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants - The Lion
Republican lawmakers want to withhold federal funding from states that provide driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-New York, re-introduced the Red Light Act, which would strip federal highway funding from any state that offers driver’s licenses or identification cards to illegals.
House Oversight Committee to convene contempt hearings on FBI director
(The Center Square) – House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., announced that the committee will hold a contempt hearing on FBI director Christopher Wray Thursday morning. Comer said Wray violated a Congressional subpoena for not handing over unclassified documents ordered as part of an ongoing investigation into millions of dollars in foreign payments connected to President Joe Biden and his family.
