Tom is a freelance sports writer on the South Shore of Massachusetts, who covers just about every sport. During the school year, he primarily covers high school sports with the occasional college/NHL game mixed in. But during the summer, his primary focus is minor league and summer collegiate baseball, freelancing for newspapers, magazines and hyper local sites throughout the country. In all, he has contributed to close to 60 print media outlets since April 2015.

A same-sex Canadian couple is suing the surrogate mother who carried their son after she refused their request to abort the preborn baby over signs of a cleft lip and possible health problems. The dispute began about two years ago when an ultrasound raised concerns about the unborn child’s health, according to the National Post. The two men asked the Ontario woman carrying the child to have an abortion at about 22 weeks of pregnancy. She refused.

This is a tough field to break into. Outwork everyone you meet. It's the only way to guarantee any least bit of success.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I like to have everything lined up at the beginning of the week but enjoy hearing from potential clients whenever.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Probably working out. I enjoy lifting weights and while I don't enjoy it, I also do plenty of running to push myself.
