Several hundred Cambridge students packed into the Union debating chambers overnight on Tuesday to watch the results of the midterm elections roll in. With the entire House of Representatives, much of the Senate, and a number of governorships up for grabs, students discussed, cheered, worried, and drank the night away as they waited to see if the much anticipated “blue wave” would indeed crest.

The CUSU elections committee has issued a formal warning to three NUS delegate candidates after one of them violated the election rule which states that 'campaigners may not campaign for multiple candidates at the same time.' The ruling came after CUSU received a complaint that one of the candidates, Keelan Kellegher, was simultaneously distributing campaign materials for himself, Khaled Labidi, and Thais Warren, and all three candidates received a warning as a result of this.

A Varsity investigation has revealed the share of undergraduates at each college who receive government loans and Cambridge bursaries to cover their tuition fees and living costs, shedding light on how much financial support is given to students at individual colleges.
