Rogers dentist launches membership program for uninsured kids

Many children in Arkansas lack the medical insurance required for the care they need, according to a new report from Georgetown University's Center for Children and Families. The portion of young children in the U.S. who were uninsured increased 23% between 2022 and 2024, and Arkansas' rate is one of the worst in the country. The discrepancy is even worse for dental insurance. He runs the Smile Shoppe, a private dental practice in Rogers.

Crystal Bridges adds 114,000 square feet, reshapes visitor experience

This is Ozarks at Large. The expansion at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville will open to the public this weekend. Last week, Ozarks at Large's Jack Travis was part of a preview tour of the new 114,000-square-foot expansion. He brings us this report. Since opening on Nov. 11, 2011, Crystal Bridges has dominated Northwest Arkansas' art landscape.

Free Arkansas Folklife Festival coming to North Little Rock

Next month, Riverfront Park in North Little Rock will come alive with traditions from every corner of Arkansas. The Arkansas Folklife Festival is June 26-28. It will highlight music, dance, food, craft and storytelling from six different cultural regions of the state. Program director Rachel Reynolds says the program is co-curated with "Of the People: The Smithsonian Festival of Festivals," in celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

First Place- Best Sports News Story- Medium Newspapers The Arkansas Press Association's (APA) Better Newspaper Editorial Contest is an annual competition that recognizes outstanding journalism among its member newspapers. The contest is open to employees of APA member newspapers in good standing, with entries submitted by the newspapers themselves rather than by individuals.
