Young people today are adopting more cats than previous generations. Ozarks at Large's Jack Travis reached out to Best Friends Pet Resource Center to learn more. He got in contact with the no-kill shelter's executive director Michelle Logan. She says research from the national Best Friends organization led to this insight into cat adoption statistics. Logan: It's great news. According to Best Friends Animal Society data, a record high of 83% of cats that entered shelters were saved in 2025.

NICA director talks personal, community development through biking

The Arkansas Interscholastic Cycling League season begins this month. The organization brings together students in grades five through 12 to compete in competitive mountain biking. Terry Coddington is executive director of the Arkansas Interscholastic Cycling League, or NICA. Ozarks at Large's Jack Travis connected with him earlier this week in the Bruce and Ann Applegate News Studio One to talk about the league. Coddington says he considers NICA personal development on two wheels.
