Barry Cauchon couldn’t speak a word of French when his family moved from Hampton, Virginia, to Montreal, Quebec, in 1972. But that didn’t stop the 14-year-old from becoming a dedicated reader of the French-language daily La Presse, thanks to a game that needed no translation. Cartoonist Jean LaPlace’s “La chasse aux 8 erreurs” or “The 8-Mistake Hunt” asks readers to locate eight distinct differences across two nearly identical cartoons.
