PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A 74-year-old Punxsutawney woman is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing a firearm and making hundreds of dollars in unauthorized withdrawals from a deceased man’s bank account. Diane Rebecca Forsythe, 74, of Punxsutawney, has been charged with three third-degree felony counts of unauthorized use of access devices, as well as one first-degree misdemeanor count each of theft and receiving stolen property.

HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — To commemorate this year’s POW/MIA Recognition Day on September 20, volunteers of the non-profit Stories Behind the Stars wrote memorials to honor the American Prisoners of War who perished in the World War II sinking of the Japanese hell ship Arisan Maru. Eighty of the 1,779 Allied POWs who died in the sinking were from Pennsylvania. Arisan Maru was the largest loss of American lives in a single disaster at sea during World War II.
