Kelley Turner was a joyful and loving matriarch in the Akron community. She was often seen working at Lock 3, Ed Davis Community Center, Lawton Street Community Center and The University of Akron. Kelley loved the city of Akron and loved children. She was always a major supporter of children’s sports, especially Akron’s Tiny Tots league. She was always taking part in campus gatherings, community events and local celebrations.

Renowned comedian and television personality Joe Gatto returned to the University of Akron campus for the second time for a fun night of laughs. Gatto, who you may recognize from his successful TRU-TV show Impractical Jokers, had audience members doubled over laughing and smiling on Sunday night. The “Let’s Get Into It” tour started at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, with opener Mark Jigarjian taking the stage to warm up the crowd.

Check out the new exhibit “Art as Therapy” at the Cummings Center on October 23, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. An opening reception will be available at the event. Registration is mandatory and can be completed on the official website. Heidi Larew (LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, ATCS) and Madeline VanHorn (LPC, ATR-P) will be sharing remarks starting at 6:00 p.m. They will be speaking about the making of the exhibit and their own experiences.
