Prison governor accused of giving special treatment to Benjamin Roberts-Smith

Roberts-Smith was released from Silverwater on Friday afternoon after being charged with five counts of the war crime of murder 10 days earlier, and received a personal escort from governor Patrick Aboud, himself a veteran of the armed forces. The Victoria Cross recipient was also afforded the opportunity to leave through a back exit to avoid the scrum of media assembled at the front of the prison.

The male nurse at the centre of a hate speech video – filmed inside Bankstown Hospital – has had his home raided by NSW Police after he was hospitalised on Friday. Officers from Strikeforce Pearl reportedly raided the home of Bankstown Hospital nurse Ahmad “Rashad” Nadir on Friday night, just hours after the man was hospitalised.
