What does it mean to be a journalist?

Communication. Whatever type of journalist you are, whether it is commerce, or hard hitting news, you have to communicate well to the reader.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I like pitches to come to my email, but I don't have any control over stories. You can pitch me products, and I'll take a look though.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write. Write all the time on your own personal blog. And get others to proofread your work to better understand how your voice is heard.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Any time on a normal work day Eastern time

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That 3D printing is hard or expensive to get into. It isn't. You can get good machines for less than $300 at this point.
