James has been writing about technology for years but has loved it since the early 90s.

While his main areas of expertise are maker tools -- 3D printers, vinyl cutters, paper printers, and laser cutters -- he also loves to play board games and tabletop RPGs.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Communication. Whatever type of journalist you are, whether it is commerce, or hard hitting news, you have to communicate well to the reader.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I like pitches to come to my email, but I don't have any control over stories. You can pitch me products, and I'll take a look though.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write. Write all the time on your own personal blog. And get others to proofread your work to better understand how your voice is heard.
