A resort spa menu will show you eight facials and sell you maybe five genuinely different treatments. Spa facials get listed three ways at once: generic type names like hydrating and brightening, product-house branding like Sodashi or Guinot, and in-house signature names that mean nothing once you leave the property. The fix is the same one that works on a massage menu. Choose by the outcome you want for your skin, not by the name printed on the page. The price is the second problem.

The hotel spa menu lists a body wrap at $185 and a body scrub at $170, one line apart, with no indication that one is usually the setup for the other. Nothing on the page tells you whether booking both is smart sequencing or paying twice for the same idea. The short version: a scrub sands off the dead-cell layer on your skin’s surface, and a body wrap spa treatment applies a mud, seaweed, or cream mask, seals your body in cloth or film, and lets heat drive it in.

Mud baths and clay treatments sit on hotel spa menus at massage prices, sold in language that promises minerals and detox while telling you almost nothing about what happens in the room. A mud bath spa treatment is worth booking. Just not for the reason printed on the menu. The numbers first. The soak itself runs about 15 to 20 minutes, but budget one to two hours for the full visit, including the shower and whatever the property stacks after it.
