What was your first job as a journalist?

I published a weekly tourist newspaper in SW New Hampshire while in high school.

To offer information to readers that hopefully will help them exercise their rights as citizens.

Why did you become a journalist?

Journalism appeals to my interest in history, government and storytelling.

I was a reporter and news editor.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be open to new opportunities. Understand that news is delivered in many formats and be comfortable using them. Remain objective, skeptical.
