Gen. Chris Donahue, the top Army general in Europe and Africa, will be stepping down. The news was first reported by The Atlantic’s Nancy A. Youssef and Missy Ryan. A source familiar with the matter confirmed to Task & Purpose that Donahue will soon relinquish command of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, which is expected to announce the move on Wednesday. Donahue took over the top role at the command in December 2024. Though the revelation may have been sudden, the move wasn’t without foreshadowing.

Prime Hall, Don Tran and Rick Briere all served together in the 1st Raider Battalion — a Marine Corps special operations unit that traces its origins back to World War II. Now, they’ve been reimagined as playable characters in the latest season of the popular first-person shooter, “Battlefield 6.” The three former Raiders appear as playable avatars, which function as cosmetic “skins,” and are part of the game’s second season, dubbed Nightfall.

Sailor sports ‘Arrogant Bastard’ beer patch on carrier involved in Iran combat operations

At least one sailor taking part in combat operations against Iran knows a thing or two about arrogant bastards. Or, at least, is familiar with the beer of the same name. First spotted by Jared Keller, the author of the Laser Wars newsletter, the photo was published to the military’s image and video database on March 1. It is one of several shots that capture the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln on the opening day of Operation Epic Fury, which began on Feb. 28.
