Pacific Northwest sees strong winds, cooler temps and cloudy skies Monday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As we keep an eye on one of the latest wildfires across our region, the Lyle Hill Fire in Klickitat County — the wind gusts are a concern for firefighters battling that fire in Lyle, Washington. Wind gusts near Lyle are expected to range from 38 to 30 mph through Monday afternoon as the west winds in that area are not letting up heading into this week. Peak wind gusts in The Dalles maxed out at 47 mph on Sunday.

As active weather fades, Portland afternoons remain cooler than normal

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Saturday brought active weather across the region, but Sunday will be a bit more chill. At approximately 3:37 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service Portland office issued a Tornado Warning after reports of a funnel cloud near Molalla. The warning was issued for the west central portion of Clackamas County and remained in place for roughly 25 minutes.
