Yeast Waffles
Yeast Waffles This is a traditional yeast waffle recipe. It makes tasty, crunchy waffles. They are very good with syrup, or my personal favorite is waffles topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries! Submitted by JANET MORRIS Updated on June 1, 2026

Holiday Memories: A Christmas journal that continues even after 71 years
The year was 1941. Her family lived on 80 acres in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Robert and Mary farmed and struggled to raise seven children. Even with five boys to help, turning a living out of the rich Midwest soil was a challenge. This Christmas was a normal cold snowy holiday. Their four youngest children walked the four miles to the one-room “West Weaver” school house on RR 3. Miss Onstine, the spinster schoolmarm, lived with her parents close to the old school.
Veil of the Dragon: Prophecy of the Evarun, Book 1
What made the experience of listening to Veil of the Dragon the most enjoyable? This story is sensitively written but full of pathos, adventure and risk. The narrator, Neil Hellegers, never overdoes the narration or voices the lines so that they feel staged, or even recited; rather, you feel as if the voice and the story are one. What did you like best about this story? I love Barczak's writing.
