Mayfield senior Gray Robbins is using the KHSAA mandated ‘Dead Period’ to turn his focus from summer basketball to preseason football. For high school athletes across the commonwealth, the next two weeks are crucial in many ways as the KHSAA ‘Dead Period’ prohibits any official team gatherings from June 25 to July 9. For some these two weeks are a chance to rest, reset and get ready for their upcoming 2026-27 athletics season.

Lyon County to introduce volleyball to athletic lineup

Lyon County has announced a new program will be added to their lineup of athletic programs for the 2026-27 school year. Girls interested in playing volleyball will have the chance to be a part of Lyon County High School history as part of the first volleyball program in school history.
