Depending on who you ask, this is either a franchise standing up to a loudmouth who dared them to do it, or an organization delivering a blueprint to other franchises on how to silence local critics. Teams that travel this path usually end up with more negative coverage. You can’t deliver a 6 and 28 record over two seasons, change your front office and coaching staff, and then complain about unfavorable attention.

Friday was a crazy day in the radio business. It started with Damon Amendolara announcing his exit from SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. 104.3 The Score in Chicago was next, revealing changes just before our 5pm newsletter dropped. Then, after dinner, I received an email that Pat Paxton was leaving Saga Communications. All three of those stories appeared first on this website. Some didn’t like that we broke the news. I realize that when we publish a story, news gets amplified.
