(Dakota News Now) - After the showers and storms move away Thursday night, we’ll have just a slight chance of isolated showers early on Friday. Still, it’ll end just after sunrise, and it’ll also be noticeably cooler and less humid. A lot of us today along I-29 will not get above 80 degrees thanks to this system that brought all the rainfall last night. The wind will be breezy, especially in the eastern parts of the area, with wind speeds between 20-25 mph with gusts over 30 mph.

(Dakota News Now) - Showers and some light thunderstorms will move through the area this morning. Some lightning and heavy downpours would be the biggest issues with the severe potential staying off to our south and to our east. Clearing of these showers and storms will happen in the evening hours tonight. Friday will be the the first day of a stretch of 3 where there will be limited to no rain chances in the Dakota News Now coverage area. We will be relatively warm though for the day on Friday.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The warmth continues to build in for Friday as temperatures warm into the 80s and some possible 90s with plenty of sun. The wind won’t be as strong as it was on Thursday; however, it’ll be on the breezy side over northern portions of our area. There are Red Flag Warnings in place for portions of the area due to the strong winds, but this mainly encompasses the northern half of the viewing area.
