Rumours have been running hot for a few weeks that Sonos is about to announce its own voice assistant, and it turns out the rumours are true – the company has just announced a new voice assistant for its products, designed to help you control your Sonos products and voiced by actor Giancarlo Esposito. First things first – the Sonos voice assistant isn’t a do-everything voice assistant.

Sonos is bringing us some new colour options for its awesome little Roam ultraportable speaker – Wave (blue), Sunset (red/orange) and Olive (green). Launching a portable speaker while much of the world was going through lockdowns and stay-at-home orders can’t have been easy, but the end result was an extremely capable product offering quality sound and 10 hours of battery life on the road.

When you hear “new Sonos product” you usually expect to prepare your wallet to take a hit, but the company’s latest sound bar is landing very much in the “affordable tech” column at just $399. Sonos Ray is a compact sound bar that nicely occupies an entry level position in the market.
