Feline upper respiratory tract disease (FURTD) is a common, contagious illness caused by one or more viruses, bacteria, fungi, or protozoa. Feline herpesvirus-1 (FHV-1) commonly contributes to FURTD and often results in upper respiratory signs (eg, discharge from the eyes or nose, coughing, sneezing, conjunctivitis), corneal and oral ulcers, and fever.
