In a world often overwhelmed by brokenness and pain, one organization is offering a unique path to healing, through the gentle power of horses and the unending love of Jesus Christ. Beautiful Brokenness Ministries, a Christ-centered nonprofit based in Louisa, has been transforming lives for over 15 years with its innovative approach to spiritual and emotional recovery.

I still remember the feeling I got whenever my father took my brothers and me to the local theater as children. That pit of excitement mixed with the slight unease of being allowed to stay up late to watch movies made it feel like you were doing something that wasn’t allowed, which made the experience even more thrilling. That nostalgic feeling I get while writing this is tied to some of my most valued childhood memories.

On Friday, Nov. 15 from 5-7 p.m., the PVCC Fine Arts program held their opening reception for the Process = Progress: Peeking Behind the Curtain of Creativity art gallery in the V. Earl Dickinson Building. Inspired by this fall’s One Book Program, the gallery had the processes of the works on display alongside the art pieces, with inspiration from the book Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance demonstrating the themes of perseverance through passion and determination despite hard times.
