A pilot cohort study of blood brain barrier permeability in Alzheimer’s disease using dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging
Abstract Blood–brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction is implicated as a key link between neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Peripheral inflammation may exacerbate cognitive decline by promoting BBB breakdown and impairing clearance of amyloid and tau, yet in vivo evidence for this hypothesis remains limited.
From research to clinical practice: Expert consensus on Neuroimaging AI tools for the Memory clinic (Neuro-AIM)
Abstract Although AI tools for neuroimaging show considerable promise in the diagnosis, prognosis, and management of neurodegenerative disorders, their uptake in memory clinics has been limited. A key barrier is lack of consensus on their effective design and implementation. Here we establish expert consensus on the specific goals, usage and challenges of AI tools for neuroimaging in the memory clinic using a Delphi process.

Placebo effects in randomized trials of pharmacological and neurostimulation interventions for mental disorders: An umbrella review - Molecular Psychiatry
Abstract There is a growing literature exploring the placebo response within specific mental disorders, but no overarching quantitative synthesis of this research has analyzed evidence across mental disorders. We carried out an umbrella review of meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of biological treatments (pharmacotherapy or neurostimulation) for mental disorders.
Placebo effects in mental health disorders: protocol for an umbrella review
Methods and analysis This protocol has been preregistered on the open science framework (https://osf.io/75ptj).
T Lymphocytes and Their Potential Role in Dementia with Lewy Bodies
1. Introduction Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) accounts for 5–10% of all dementia cases, and it is the second most common degenerative cause of dementia after Alzheimer’s disease (AD) [1]. Clinically, DLB is characterised by fluctuating cognition, recurrent visual hallucinations, motor features of parkinsonism, and rapid eye movement sleep behaviour disorder [2].
Voiding Cystourethrogram: Who Gets a Cyclic Study and Does It Matter?
Summary Background: Voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) images the urethra and bladder during both bladder filling and emptying, as well as the ureters and kidneys when vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is present. Given the variation in VCUG technique and reporting, the American Academy of Pediatrics Sections on Urology and Radiology published a joint standardized VCUG protocol in 2016, which included the recommendation of at least 2 voiding cycles to identify intermittent VUR and/or ureteral ectopia.
Dementia
Abstract ‘Dementia’ is an umbrella term for a number of progressive, organic brain diseases that affect approximately 850,000 people in the UK. Most neurodegenerative diseases leading to dementia are characterized by processes that result in the aberrant polymerization of proteins. A small proportion of individuals with these diseases develop dementia as a direct result of mutations or polymorphisms in genes influencing these processes. The most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer's disease.
