San Francisco 49ers Won’t Win Super Bowl If Brock Purdy Doesn’t Play Better
The San Francisco 49ers are advancing to the NFC Championship Game for the third consecutive season. They were the top seed in the NFC for most of the season and will now host the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 2019. And as great as that feeling has to be for the 49ers and their fans, there has to be a lot of concern about Brock Purdy moving forward in the playoffs. Purdy's performance against the Green Bay Packers, albeit in a win, left much to be desired.
Lamar Jackson Silences Critics, Puts Playoff Troubles Behind Him
The playoffs have never been kind to Lamar Jackson. As a rookie, Jackson got his first taste of postseason football in a thrashing at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers. The game got out of hand so fast that people jumped at the chance to question Jackson's ability to play quarterback at the NFL level. Jackson returned to the playoffs the following year as an MVP and the first seed in the AFC, only to be upset by a backyard-brawling Tennessee Titans squad.

In-Depth Look Into Each NFL Head Coaching Vacancy: What Could Teams Do Next? Original
This year's coaching cycle is the busiest in recent history, and there's plenty of debate about which team has the best situation. Let's take a bird's-eye view and examine each team's owners, general managers, quarterbacks and draft capital situation. Paul Allen died in 2018, and his sister Jody Allen took over the Seattle Seahawks. There has been speculation for years that the team could be sold as early as May 2024, but Allen is adamant that won’t happen.

Has The Tua Tagovailoa Era Already Peaked For Miami Dolphins?
Another promising season for the Miami Dolphins came to a disappointing end. The Dolphins were down five starters on defense in the Wild Card Round but the offense was the bigger disappointment in the 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins had a 29.7 percent success rate, according to TruMedia, the 27th-lowest rate in a playoff game since 2000. Miami’s loss to Buffalo in last year’s wild card game was the 19th-lowest.

2024 NFL Wild Card Weekend: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs Are Inevitable
Nothing about this year's Kansas City Chiefs felt right. Patrick Mahomes didn't put up MVP numbers and Travis Kelce tapered off as the season dragged on. Wide receivers made mistakes seemingly every drive, a far cry from the tidied-up environment we are used to seeing from Andy Reid offenses. The Chiefs were in most games this season because of their defense rather than in spite of it. After five years of being a known quantity and kings of the sport, the team's entire identity flipped on its head.
C.J. Stroud Is Rare Rookie QB Who Could Lead Texans To Super Bowl
Rookie quarterbacks aren’t supposed to play well in the playoffs. The game moves at a different speed, and defenses usually know how to make them uncomfortable. The pressure of these games proves to be too much for young quarterbacks, and it usually takes multiple years before they are ready for the moment. But C.J. Stroud isn’t your average rookie quarterback, and the Houston Texans aren’t your typical young team. That is terrible news for the rest of the teams in the playoffs.
How Turnovers Helped, Hurt NFL Teams This Season
Skip to content Turnovers and turnover differential are brought up on nearly every NFL broadcast, but the raw numbers don't tell the full story. Most people have seen interceptions that aren't the quarterback's fault, whether because of a drop by the receiver, an unlucky bounce, etc. This article will try not to look at who's at fault, but it's important not to take numbers at face value.

Sean McVay, Rams' Offensive Evolution Makes them Dangerous Playoff Team Original
Carson Wentz will be the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18. If you had just that fact ahead of the season, you’d probably assume the Rams’ 2023 season went as poorly or worse than 2022. But the 9-7 Rams clinched a playoff spot and have the luxury of resting starters in the regular season finale. The 2023 season was not expected to be like this in Los Angeles, especially given how the 2022 went.
Jordan Love's Stunning In-season Growth Puts Packers on Brink of Playoffs Original
In his first year as the Green Bay Packers' starting QB Jordan Love started inconsistently, leading his team to a 3-6 record. Since then, it’s been a dramatic turnaround with five wins in the last seven games and a red-hot Love is leading the way. He has 16 TD passes and only one interception during that stretch. Heading into Sunday’s regular-season finale at Lambeau Field against the Chicago Bears, the Packers can claim a wild-card spot with a victory.

2024 NFL Free Agency: 8 Underrated Players On The Market This Year
Three-quarters of the NFL's 32 teams remain in playoff contention, so most teams have a ton left to play for this season. For players, these final weeks could serve as the last impression before they hit the free-agent market in March. This year’s free agent crop has the potential to be top-heavy, especially at the offensive skill positions, if those players do not get franchised or re-sign with their original teams. There are several players set to hit big paydays this offseason.

How Joe Brady Has Unlocked Bills Offense, Set Buffalo Up for Playoff Run Original
When the Buffalo Bills moved on from offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Buffalo still had one of the better offenses in the league statistically. Through Week 10, the Bills ranked third in EPA per play, second in success rate, fourth in EPA per drive and fourth in points per drive, according to TruMedia. Yet, the Bills were 5-5, and something seemed off about the offense, even with the statistical success. Dorsey was let go, and quarterbacks coach Joe Brady was promoted to offensive coordinator.
Eagles' Offensive Identity Crisis Makes Super Bowl Return Unlikely
Think about all the Philadelphia Eagles' worst moments on offense from Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. On the game's second drive, Jalen Hurts chucked it deep on second-and-5 to DeVonta Smith for an incompletion. That was followed by a false start and another incompletion, sending the punt team on. Series over. Two drives later, their two-minute drive attempt stalled out with three straight incompletions. More of the same haunted the Eagles out of the half.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Latest First-Round Predictions After Week 15
As we inch closer to the 2024 NFL Draft, we’re getting more of an idea of what the top five will look like. In that top five, we continue to see QB, WR, and OT at the top of this year's class. A new team has entered the quarterback sweepstakes in this version, shaking a few things up in the top 10. Caleb Williams, QB, USC Justin Fields continues to show some growth, but it’s hard to see the Chicago Bears passing up on their pick of the litter at quarterback.
Ranking Every NFL Team by Yards per Play Differential Entering Week 15
Skip to content Football is a turf war, and here's how you measure it. For years, one of the stats that analysts and gamblers love to use in assessing how good or bad a team is performing is yards per play differential (YPPD). While it sounds complex, it’s pretty simple. How many yards does your offense gain on the average play vs. how many yards does your defense allow per play? If you have any hope of winning or even getting to a Super Bowl, the difference better be positive.

Miami Dolphins: Former NFL Coach Blasts Vic Fangio After Embarrassing Collapse In Week 14
How Concerned Should Fans Be? This is a bad loss but it isn’t the end of the season. Miami is still in a great position for a playoff spot. The biggest concern is the injuries. Four offensive linemen were missing last night which definitely played a factor on offense. When Tyreek Hill went down, the offense changed. His health is paramount to the success of the team. This happens in the NFL. Parity is at an all-time high and good teams will collapse.
