4 roster questions the Stars face heading into training camp: Can Taylor Fedun push for playing time?
The Stars aren’t sure how to forecast their roster needs. What if the four-month layoff causes a rash of injuries during training camp? What if an outbreak of COVID-19 sidelines part of their roster? How do you plan for a possible roster upheaval at a moment’s notice? “I can sit here and make the roster up right now, what I think it’s going to be, but that can change on Monday or it can change on the 26th, so we’ve got to be very open-minded,” Nill said.

Dallas Cowboys' Jaylon Smith: Invest in minority businesses to close income gap
A dime to a dollar. That’s the gap between African American median net worth ($17,600) and white American net worth ($171,000). There is a lot of talk about what separates us in America, but net income disparity speaks loudest about what’s wrong. We have one America rising and another America falling. But we’re one America, and we’ll ultimately rise or fall together. Neighborhoods lack investment The best way to close this economic gap is through economic solutions.
The 5 Toughest Players I've Ever Faced
I was a film and television major at Notre Dame. So when I was preparing to drop this 5 Toughest list, I figured I’d break it down a little bit different. More cinematic. Real authentic. So, let’s roll camera. Quiet on set! Silence your cellphones, and remember, please, no flash photography. This is Jaylon Smith’s 5 Toughest — take 1. 🎬 As far as running backs go, these guys are basically 1a and 1b. But if I’m casting the star role in my backfield, I gotta give the edge to my guy Zeke. Easy E.

The former Notre Dame standout is proud of the memento.

Mailbag: Noah Brown’s Chances Of Making The 53? Team’s Title Window?
Noah Brown really seems to be making a case to stay around. He shows up constantly. With Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley, Brice Butler and Ryan Switzer all seemingly locks, what happens to Brown? I think if we exposed him to waivers trying to get him to the practice squad, he would be claimed, yet there is probably not room for him as a sixth receiver on the 53. What gives? Bryan: Whispers have told me that he's making a serious case for that sixth spot.
Cowboys Leaning Toward Playing Zeke Saturday; How Much Will Jaylon Play?
FRISCO, Texas – Head coach Jason Garrett said he’s leaning toward playing Ezekiel Elliott against the Raiders on Saturday in what would be his first appearance this preseason. Elliott took first-team reps in practice Wednesday. The All-Pro running back is facing a six-game suspension for violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He’s appealing the league’s decision. “I think the biggest thing is just having the mindset of preparing him for Week 1 of the season,” Garrett said.
Spagnola: What A Walk Down What Now Is Cowboys Memory Lane Forever
See, Tex Schramm was big on history. History of the NFL. History of the country. History of those World Wars. You name it. But I can remember the one thing Tex seemed to contemplate in his later years, before passing away on July 15, 2003: Had he done enough during his 83 years on this earth to be remembered? Did he make his mark? Silly Texas E. Schramm.
Marinelli: “Heck Of A Play” By Jaylon Smith In His First Game As A Cowboy
FRISCO, Texas – Rod Marinelli and the coaching staff have been impressed with Jaylon Smith’s approach to his injury rehab since getting drafted in April of last year. Last Saturday, the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator liked what he saw in Smith’s first NFL game – specifically, an instinctive and physical third-down stop that forced the Colts to punt. “Man, that was a heck of play he made on that tackle,” Marinelli said. “You could see his speed.
Wed. Practice Recap: Dealing With “Dilemma” Of Rookie DBs Missing Time
FRISCO, Texas – It happens on occasion during the grind of training camp, but Wednesday’s list of absentees felt awfully lengthy. Between injuries and veterans’ rest days, the Cowboys saw 19 of 90 players sit out of practice on Wednesday afternoon. That’s roughly 20 percent of the roster sidelined for practice, which is bound to put a strain on a practice. Nowhere is that strain being felt more than the secondary, where hamstring injuries have left the Cowboys quite short-handed during practices.
