Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, my parents had an electric Smith-Corona typewriter before I got my first computer in 1994.

How is social media changing news?

Social media a way to connect with readers (and in our case, fans) in a much more dynamic and instant way than ever before.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

I get to connect minor league players with family, friends and fans of Yankees baseball and explain what I see to them.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer to be contacted via email or text message. A short message is OK if trying to establish contact if we've never worked together.

What's your favorite social network?

I love interacting with fans on Twitter, especially when an exciting play happens, but I love showing off my photos on Instagram too.

Who do you wish followed you?

I'd like more of the mainstream sports media to follow me. I try to show off the work the minor leaguers put in as best I can.

What's your favorite drink?

Water! It's so hot in the summer in Florida and I carry 2 liters of water with me to every game I cover... and sometimes I still need more!

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I'm a techie, so I enjoy keeping up with the latest tech by reading The Verge, Engadget, Windows Central, Android Central and 9to5Mac.
