The prof was speaking to a room full of aspiring pastors, ministers and spiritual leaders. We all thought we were going to change the world church for the better. His words were grounding. Marron should spout facts, not analogies

Far be it for me to disagree with Mr. Thomas Marron's letter on May 13 ("Playing the 'spending game' in Richmond"), but some things do not add up. First, there is no spending game in Richmond. Tax revenue increased because the tax base (the value of all taxable property in Richmond) increased roughly 1.1%. Second, there is no deficit spending, as no new borrowing was added. Third, there is no slashing but redistribution of funds. Lastly, no one stated this budget "...
