June 26, 2026, 3:54 p.m. ET A North Benton man was found guilty by a Portage County jury after a February high-speed pursuit that ended in a drug arrest. Carlos Alexis Ochoa, 35, was found guilty June 24 after a two-day trial on charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both first-degree felonies; and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies.

Four people have been indicted after what was described as a "riot" at a Deerfield Township wine bar. A Tuscarawas County man and three Stark County residents face felony charges in an incident in which the co-owner of Cove W Winery was seriously injured. Eric W. Blose, 48, of Sandyville was indicted on two counts of second-degree felony assault and single counts of fourth-degree felony aggravated riot and first-degree misdemeanor assault.
