Former Florida center Micah Handlogten has committed to Ole Miss for his fifth year of college basketball, On3’s Joe Tipton reported Friday. Handlogten is the second former Gator seeking a fifth year to land a transfer this week after Xaivian Lee announced his move to Gonzaga on Wednesday. Handlogten’s decision comes after the 7-foot-1 big man entered the transfer portal on April 6 and identified his three potential landing spots: NC State, Ole Miss and Southern California.

Former Gator Xaivian Lee transfers to Gonzaga for fifth year

Former Gator Xaivian Lee transferred to Gonzaga Wednesday after receiving a temporary restraining order from the state of California, per On3’s Joe Tipton. This move comes after Lee announced he planned to enter the transfer portal on Aug. 18, seeking a new opportunity in his fifth collegiate season. At Princeton, Lee averaged 17.1 and 16.9 points per game in his sophomore and junior years, respectively. He also received First Team All-Ivy League honors in 2024 and 2025.

The back-and-forth over the NCAA’s eligibility rules saw one of its biggest swings Friday after the collegiate sport governing body’s major court win. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals voted 2-1 in favor of halting the U.S. District Court of Colorado's ruling that granted thousands of college athletes who were freshmen during the 2022-23 season an extra year of eligibility, which included Denzel Aberdeen.
